June 6 2024 the MD-IMT held a Team meeting at the Howard County Public Safety Training Academy . During the meeting the Team had presentations from Ashely Morris on the Linden Heights LODD After Action Report; Barry Reid on the Simplified Planning Process using the ICS201 Extended, and Program Manager John Hart on budget and the Strategic Plan. The Winter Semester was busy for the MD-IMT Training Officer. The Team held the L-964 SITL Unit Leader and the L-965 RESL/DEMOB Unit Leader courses. The SITL Course had members from MD-IMT; MD-TF1 USAR, and Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM).

Key Bridge Collapse March 26, 2024

On March 26, 2024 at approximately 0126 the MV Dali container ship struck the Key Bridge collapsing six spans into the water. The MD-IMT was alerted at approximately 0215 to assist the Baltimore City Fire Department in managing an incident with multiple jurisdictions and resources already working a waterborne search and rescue. MD-IMT holds NFA O-305 Introduction to All Hazards Incident Management Teams Course

The MD-IMT held the National Fire Academy's O-305 Introduction to All Hazards Incident Management Teams Course at the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute located on the campus of the University of Maryland College Park. Maryland Incident Management Team assists with Line of Duty Death Services

At the request of the Baltimore City Fire Department the MD-IMT is assisting with planning funeral services for two Baltimore City Firefighters; Lt. Dillon J Rinaldo and EMT/Firefighter Rodney Pitts III both of which were injured/died fighting a fire on October 19, 2023.
